Winning Entry at Art Melt 2012

Art Melt 2012 was held this year at The Shaw Center for the Arts in Brunner Gallery. The preview show was a blast. There were great bands, food and drinks for all who attended. The night ended with awards for the winning entries. It was a great show with many talented artists and I was very happy to recieve Honorable Mention on my Sgraffito Bottle Vase. I was even happier that it sold so quickly.  The show runs for about 3 more weeks and is free and open to the public. If you have the chance to get out, I believe it's worthwhile to see.

The show open to the public the next day was enjoyable as well. There were more bands, a children's art show and an Arts Marketplace outside that was quite interesting. I wish there were more booths, but the earlier rain may have causes some to cancel. The children's art show was very enjoyable also. I always love to see the work of up and coming mini artists. I'm often amazed by what they can do at such an early age.

Showing at Art Melt 2012

I'm very excited that my Sgraffito work has been accepted into Art Melt 2012 in Baton Rouge. Art Melt is a juried show to promote artists throughout the state and is the largest multi-media, juried art exhibit in Louisiana. The show is free and open to the public from July 14th and runs for 4 weeks.  The preview party is on July 13th which requires the purchase of tickets from their organization. Hope to see you there. I'll post photos after the show runs.

Feature Article on My Work in Gumbo Entertainment

I was excited and flattered that Gumbo Entertainment contacted me to do a feature article on my work for the March issue of their magazine. Eric Besson who did the interview was very personable and I think he did a great job.

Showing at Southdown Marketplace

It’s official. My paperwork came in and I’ll be showing my pottery at Southdown Marketplace on March 31st 2012. I'll have a mix of pieces that I've worked on for quite some time and hopefully including some very recent pieces with new surface designs. I'm working hard to get things finished for the deadline. My booth is #313. Hope to see you there. The show is held from 8:00 A.M. till 4:00 P.M. Rain or shine the show will go on so lets hope for a beautiful day.

For those not familiar with Southdown Marketplace, it’s our semi-Annual Arts and Crafts festival in Houma, La. It’s held at the Southdown Plantation  grounds and is located at 1208 Museum Dr. at the corner of Hwy. 311 and St. Charles St.
